So sitting here trying to think about what exciting story I could tell you about i realized...my Christmas break was actually really lame. Though there were some fun things I did, most of it involved akward family christmases. You know the kind where relatives you barely even know come over and give you big hugs and tell stories about when you were a teeny little baby. Then of course there are the cousins that just annoy the crap out of you. But luckily they didn't make the drive out from Nebraska this year, thank God! But since there were a few good things over the long break, I guess I'll tell you about them.
First of all, there are the gifts. Lets be honest, if it weren't for the gifts Christmas would just be another ordinary boring holiday. My parents stuck to the basics when it came to Christmas shopping for me. A couple Xbox games and a lot of money, which is completely fine by me. Money is always a great gift to make someone happy. But this year was somewhat different. Since I had a job this summer, I was actually able to afford to buy my family gifts. So i was pretty proud of myself for that.
With all the spare time during the break, I was able to go to a couple of movies. With all the hype about the new James Cameron movie, Avatar, I automatically had to go see it. And I must say that I was pretty impressed with it. It had a good storyline and all the C.G. made for a great movie. One thing I didn't like about it though was the length. A two and a half hour movie is a little long for my taste.
The other movie I got to see during break was Sherlock Holmes. Now that is my kind of movie. Ever since Iron Man, I have been a big fan of Robert Downy Jr. So I went into this movie with big expectations. I was not dissapointed. The storyline was very well put together and the acting was great. It really made you do a lot of thinking throughout the entire movie. Over all I'd give it four stars.
But most of my break consisted of hanging out with my friends. The only bad thing was that there was never anything to do. Since there were a lot of people with their families or on vacation, we usually ended up sitting around watching t.v. or playing video games. Exciting I know. Speaking of video games, my parents have officially become Wii obsessed. We got one as a family christmas present and I don't think they have gone one night since without playing. As I am writing this, one of them is bowling in the next room. It gets kind of annoying but at least they found something better to do than bother me all the time.
So that's pretty much it for this blog. I hope it hasn't bored you to much. As I wrote this I'm pretty sure I've become depressed over how uneventful my life really is. High school sucks and hopefully college is ten times better. But I'll save that for another blog.

Haha! High school is really that terrible? I think the story about your parents becoming obsessed with Wii is pretty funny! It made me imagine my parents playing Wii....oh dear!
ReplyDeleteI'm also very proud of you Carson. Way to mix it up and buy your family Christmas gifts this season! ha just kidding. I'm sure they love you regardless.... ;) I would also have to agree that Sherlock Holmes was indeed a success. No worries, you didn't bore me TOO much. :)
